As those of you who follow our events calendar on Facebook might have seen, it has been a busy month of demos, festivals and races. In addition to the Garda Festival in Italy and the Fruita Fat Tire Festival in Colorado, Chris, Mike, Donna and Brian made their way to the Dirt Rag Dirtfest this past weekend, for 3 days of bikes, music and great rides around Raystown Lake, PA. With the East Coast demo fleet on hand, they had a great time meeting current and new Niner riders! We are definitely going back next year! Check the video by Vertical Sandbox for some reactions from test riders, see if you can spot Chris in there wrenching:

Vertical Sandbox also made a second video for us, of the Niner / Stan's/ Ergon women's team out shredding the trails around Richmond, VA. Check out Rebecca and Donna making tracks on the Air 9 Carbon!

For this month's tech feature, we are going to keep it simple. Fuzzy took some time out while traveling to demo events and made a video based on his experience with the Air 9 Carbon cable routing. After personally assembling dozens of Air 9 Carbon frames, he has developed some tips and tricks to make process fast and easy. Niner Staff Introductions!

We have a great crew of people who work to bring Niner Bikes to the world, and as a part of expanding the Niner community, we thought we would start making some introductions:

Introducing Kenny Gensel, our financial controller!

Kenny grew up in the Longview, WA, under the shadow of Mount St. Helens. After college, he relocated to sunny Southern California, and began his love affair with cycling in the foothills surrounding San Diego. Before coming to Niner, Kenny had a foray into the world of Ski-Bikes, which is how he got hooked on jumping. Currently, his favorite trail is Sweetwater Reservoir in San Diego, and his W.F.O. 9 is destined to see a lot of miles on that trail and many others in SoCal.

When asked about his favorite ride, Kenny speak about the great people you meet in the San Diego area "One of my favorite rides was with a Marine who had received the Navy Cross for heroism in Iraq. An incredibly polite gentleman, he was very grateful for all the gear I loaned him to ride [he was preparing for his first 24hr solo]. On one techy switchback section, he failed to unclip and laid it down. We laughed together and rode off. About 1/4 mile down the track, he asked to stop. He apologized, but said he had to return to do the section again. It was clear he would not leave until he cleared it. Which he did. After riding he played with my kids after breakfast - an impressive guy all around."

Finally, we asked Kenny for his best bike tip, and he said "Bring enough tools and supplies for your friends, too." We have a feeling that there is a story in there, somewhere...
