MTBR Light Meter Measurements:
This light measured 5 lux on our ambient Mtbr lux light measurement facility. In an integrating sphere, this light measured at 46 lumens. The Mako 2 on the other hand measured 11 lux and 92 lumens in our lab tests. Clearly, the Mako 2 is twice as bright as the Mako 1 at $50 vs $40.
Light Meter Charts and Comparison Table »
Strengths:
- $40 is a good price point
- Cree LED and reflector is good to have at this level
- Quick release mount is very good for a commuter level light
Weaknesses:
- It’s just a very weak light compared to the Mako 2.
- The beam pattern is weak and very small
Bottom Line:
If you have to be at this price point, go for the Mako 2 which is only $10 more
