NO BARRIERS SUMMIT 2011 TO BE HELD IN WINTER PARK, COLORADO ON JUNE 30 – JULY 3, 2011
Four-Day Event Will Serve People with Disabilities and Their Families Hosted by National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD)

WINTER PARK, Colo.  (May 3, 2011) – Winter Park Resort, located just 67 miles from Denver, is home to the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) who will be hosting the No Barriers Summit in 2011. From June 30 through July 3, the non-profit organization will offer a unique four-day event created to enrich the lives of people living with challenges. Already one of the largest outdoor therapeutic recreation agencies in the world, hosting the No Barriers Summit is one more opportunity for NSCD and Winter Park Resort to expand support for the disabled community.

Open to everyone, though designed to serve people with disabilities and their families, the No Barriers Summit will offer adaptive outdoor adventure clinics, art, music, film, entertaining and inspiring presenters and an introduction to cutting-edge assistive technologies and their inventors.

Offered every other year, recent locations included Squaw Valley, California; Miami, Florida; and Cortina, Italy. The 2011 Summit is expected to bring 600 participants from 40 states and five continents to Winter Park, Colorado. Over 20 outdoor clinics will be offered and at least 12 world-premiering technologies will be highlighted during the four day event.

Keynote Comedian:
Josh Blue, winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing

Featured Musician:
Mark Goffeney  a.k.a “Big Toe”, acclaimed guitarist, speaker and TV personality born without arms

Highlighted Personalities:
Jordan Romero, the youngest person to summit Mt. Everest at the age of 13 in 2010
Evan Strong, an X-Games competitor and internationally recognized adaptive athlete

Highlighted Technologies:
Powerfoot BiOM, Tongue Drive System, BrainPort, All-Terrain Handcycle, Rock Climbing Gear for Quadriplegics, Adaptive Kayaking, plus more!

Highlighted Adaptive Clinics:
Skateboarding, Rock Climbing, Scuba, White Water Rafting, Mountain Biking and more!
