August 22, 2012 (Swain, NY) Stop #4 of the Gravity East Series will be in the Allegany foothills of Western NY at Swain Resort. The prestigious downhill mountain bike race expects to draw nearly 150 racers from all over the east coast. On August 25-26, Gravity East riders will tackle a rocky and root infested, steep race course called Sledgehammer.

During the weekend, scenic lift rides, for those who simply wish to ride the lift, will also be available for just $5 per person. The ski lift will carry racers, spectators, and recreational mountain bike riders and their bikes up the mountain providing a birds-eye view of the slopes and motocross track below.

Free camping is available onsite while Swain’s slope side bar & grill, The Shawmut Grille, opens serving burgers, wraps, wings, salads, and refreshing adult beverages. The outdoor deck is open with great views of the surrounding trails.
