Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park Celebrates Another Successful Women's Weekend
Women from across the country flocked to both Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park locations this month to our annual Women's Weekend event sponsored by Tri-Flow. Women's Weekend is a unique opportunity specifically for female
riders of all skill levels to come together and learn from some of the sports top riders. Ray's MTB worked with World Champion mountain bike racer, Leigh Donovan to assembled a flock of professional women mountain bike and BMX
riders to lead the skills clinics. The event was held at both the Ray's Cleveland location as well as the new Milwaukee park. The day long clinics were free to all entries, and both events were a huge success. Cleveland saw 105 women and Milwaukee had 85 riders. Ray's MTB would like to thank not only Leigh, but also a huge thank you to all the coaches that made the events shine: Tammy Donahugh, Nadia Steinbrecher, Deanna Edwards, Rae Gandolf, Angi Weston, Cory Coffey, Jackie Baker, Lindsey Voreis, Jamie Lilley, Jeni Roosen, and Tania Juillerat.
Donovan said, "The women's event has reignited my passion for educating and encouraging women to be their best. From helping an 8 year old girl ride her first teeter totter, the 60 year old who surprised me with her amazing bike skills and courage, to the 41 year old mom of 2 who jumped into the foam pit for her first time ever, this event is not only inspiring but life changing. Many women came alone and left with new friendships that will probably last a life time."
With this being the third year of the event, it continues to grow. Ray's MTB is committed to our Women's Weekend event, and will continue to expand and grow it in years to come. Donovan goes on to say, "With the stress of life these days, Ray's was a breath of fresh air. I found a freedom and a connection to people that helped me see what was important. The women's weekend gave me and many others a reconnection to the joy of riding and the joy of just being me. The friendships I gained this weekend will probably last a life
time and that is a great thing!!!
