Every year the athletes at Rampage defy the laws of gravity. Last year, the inevitable happened. After a meeting behind closed doors between riders and event organizers, significant changes were made to help improve safety and ensure better medical response time.

Every year the athletes at Red Bull Rampage defy the laws of gravity. Last year, the inevitable happened and a rider was seriously injured. After a meeting between riders and event organizers, significant changes were made to help improve safety and ensure quicker medical response time.

Last year a catastrophic crash during the finals of Red Bull Rampage left Paul Basagoitia temporarily paralyzed. This tragedy forced athletes and event organizers alike to rethink the structure of the event. For 2016, the number of riders has been cut, there‚Äôs renewed emphasis on natural lines, and the prize money for all contestants has been increased.
