Ridley Redefines “Going to Market” for 2013

2012 will see the participation of Ridley Bikes in both PressCamp and DealerCamp this summer. Citing timing, impact and value, Ridley will use the two camps as a springboard for their 2013 launch.

Ridley from Belgium has long been one of the marquee independent brands utilized by retailers to help define their shop’s culture and offer. An indicator species in performance bike design, Ridley re-charts the course for sales and marketing for performance brands as well, with their bellwether action acknowledging the shift in buying cycles.

“We are excited to be joining the Lifeboat Events team at DealerCamp and PressCamp this year. We’ve had several successful outings at PressCamp, and the DealerCamp follow up is ideal. This one/two punch provides maximum market impact for our 2013 cyclo-cross range, arriving in July, and a launch pad for our 2013 road program. We will skip the Vegas expo this year, as it comes too far into our selling and forecasting period. We will be in Boulder City however,” explained Dana Carson, Ridley brand manager for Quality Bicycle Products.

The Resurgence of shebeest Set for PressCamp and DealerCamp 2012

The “beest” is back in performance cycling fashions for women! shebeest, the long desired and recently missing brand of superior fit, function, and fun for women who love to ride is coming back to the industry this fall under new ownership at LeeMarc Industries.

The shebeest team will be at both PressCamp and DealerCamp to give camp participants an early peek at the shebeest Collection for Spring 2013.

“The chance to acquire and bring back shebeest to its devoted fans out there was a huge opportunity,” stated Jill Hamilton , shebeest Brand Manager.

“Lifeboat’s PressCamp and DealerCamp will give us another great opportunity to tell the new shebeest story first to many of the industry’s most influential people. We are very excited to be involved with the camps this year,” she concluded.

Industry Mover and Shaker Tim Jackson Joins LBE Team to Do Just That

Tim Jackson, late of BH Bikes/Pivot Cycles, will join the Lifeboat Events Team for a limited engagement in the production of DealerCamp 2012 as brand ambassador for the event during road rides and event activities. As a champion road and track rider and brand-marketing wizard, Jackson’s bike skills are only rivaled by his good nature and quick wit, making him an ideal choice for the position.

“When Chris and Lance asked me if I was willing to come out to Park City and be a part of Dealer Camp, I said ‘yes’ before they could finish asking the question and provide details of what I would be doing. After attending the event as an exhibitor for the first time last year, I was in love with Dealer Camp. From the riding, to the scenery, to the way the event was organized, I was hooked. It’s such a great event and LBE has done such a great job of creating a place for dealers and brands to have quality conversations, and the timing is perfect for making actual buying decisions before the avalanche begins,” said Jackson from his base in San Diego.

“I’m thrilled to be able to be a small part of the show’s growing success. And, let’s be honest, getting to ride all day and enjoy the scenery and spend time with my many friends in the industry feels a whole lot more like a vacation than ‘work’. I’m gonna stuff my jersey pockets with gel packs, spare tubes, and CO2 cartridges and play the role of ultimate domestique for the week… and I couldn’t be happier,” he continued.

Tim will be out and about on the road rides and other activities assisting DealerCamp guests with their needs and enhancing their experience.
