Swatch Bikepark Livigno closing weekend
featuring the 3rd Mottolino Freeride Contest
Livigno, Italy, September 10th, 2010 – The third anniversary of the Mottolino Freeride Contest marks the highlight of the Swatch Bikepark closing weekend 2010. On Saturday September 25th, the fun orientated Mottolino Freeride Contest celebrates the last weekend of a great bike park season with all Livigno fans. Two different disciplines, the “Downhill Race Relay” and the “Jump Session” are open to everybody. In addition, the official dinner and after party for all riders promise pure fun and good times.
For everybody that can’t wait that long for the special action in Livigno: Italian Downhill Champion Elisa Canepa is visiting Livigno this weekend (September 11th & 12th) to race down the trails with everybody that wants to join her.
Swatch Bikepark’s intention with the annual Mottolino Freeride Contest is clear, like Marco Rocca CEO Mottolino Fun Mountain, says: “Our biggest goal is to transform the Mottolino Freeride Contest into a fun orientated party for all the riders that usually come to our bike park as well as for the new ones that come for the first time and want to take their last chance in 2010.”
The 3rd Mottolino Freeride Contest is a contest for everybody, young and old, amateurs and advanced riders. Everybody should have a good time. There are three contest categories: women, children (until 14 years of age) and Elite (15 years and older). The ones, who are competing in both Mottolino Freeride Contest disciplines: The “Downhill Race Relay” and the “Jump Session” on the big Swatch Shoot My Ride air cushion, are battling for prizes such as 2011 summer season tickets as well as special prizes from the other partners, like protection gear or bike parts provided by the Sport Adventure shop. The Mottolino Freeride Contest is again dedicated to the memory of Andreas Cusini, a local freeride young gun that loved the bike park and perished over two years ago.
What are the two disciplines of the Mottolino Freeride Contest about?
The Downhill Race Relay is held on a section of the “Chemical Water” trail, which is quite easy to ride. Two riders build one team to compete. The downhill run is split in two parts: The first section to be ridden by one team member and at the end of it, team member number two is waiting to start the second section as soon as number one arrived.
For the Jump Session, the “Swatch Shoot My Ride” air cushion waits for your craziest tricks to be shown without any risk. Take a look on www.swatch.com/shootmyride to get an impression of the huge air cushion and what fun it can be to jump it.
Take your chance, show your skills and take part at the fun orientated Mottolino Freeride Contest. The last jumps onto the air cushion also mark the beginning of the season’s end party: first an after race buffet at the Livigno Brewery – with as much local “1816 Beer” as you want – followed by the real party at the Kuhstall Bar & Club including a lot of hot tunes and even more cold drinks.
There are three different packages offered: An all inclusive one (contest fee, bike park ticket and dinner) for 42 Euros, contest and gondola ticket only for 22 Euros, as well as contest and dinner only for 27 Euros. You can register yourself until September 25th, 9:45 am at the latest.
Everyone is welcome to join the comp, say goodbye to a busy bike park season 2010 and party hard afterwards.
