The SoCal Fat Tire Epic 50 is right around the corner and racers are gearing up to tackle the tough 50 miles at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula, CA. This event is sure to become a Southern California Classic!

Along with the West Coast Marathon Championships is the SoCal Bicycle Expo. More and more of the industry is coming out to demo and display the latest and greatest for 2010. Some of the Expo attendees include:

We will have the shuttles running on Sunday October 4th. The shuttles will run from
9am – 5:pm. The shuttle cost will be $5 per person for the day. 100% of The shuttle fees will go to “ Operation Cast a Shadow “. There will be a full map of the Vail Lake trail system for all to enjoy. Of course you can always pedal your way up the hills!

We are proud and excited to announce that a legend in our sport has agreed to come out and share some time with us. Multi National champion, Olympian, and world land speed record holder, John Howard will be on hand giving classes on Friday and Sunday. John’s first class is on Friday morning at 8:30 and he will be covering off –road flexibility and Strength training. The second class will be on Sunday, John will be covering off-road skills. Of course besides all the racing and classes being held we have to have fun and let loose. So Saturday night we are having a party in the Vail Lake Village. There will be live music and fresh Mexican grill. The music will start at the conclusion of the award ceremony for the marathon, around 6:30pm.

Vail Lake has offered a camping discount to anyone participating in the weekends festivities. When you make your camping reservations be sure to tell them you are there for the SoCal Fat Tire Epic weekend.
