Max Schumann Places 19th at Megavalanche
Pic Blanc, Alp d`Huez in the french Alps is one of these magic places for MTB enthusiasts.
SR SUNTOUR WERX team rider Max Schumann joined the legendary Megavalanche series for the 2nd time and there was no doubt that he wanted to finish as one of the Top 30 riders in this race. With a good run in the qualifying with a 4th place among 200 riders he snatched one of the places for the finals, standing one row behind the usual suspects like Remy Absalon, Rene Wildhaber and Nicolas Vouilloz.
He showed a really outstanding race and although he had a serious injury in his thumb he pushed really hard down the track, stoked by adrenalin and Flow from the course. After the more than 2500m of altitude difference, he finished with a great 19th place only 5min:47s behind winner Remy Absalon: Top 20!
Max will come back, not later than next year
Thumbs up Max!
Julie Bressets wins World Cup in Windham, New York
Catherine Pendrel fixed her World Cup overall title last year on this track and it was obvious that she would attack on this track again as she did already win in Mont Saint Anne one week before. But SR SUNTOUR WERX teamrider Julie Bresset wanted to defend her World Cup leadership so it was expected to be an exciting race from the beginning.
And they started in the same manner they already dominated the World Cup in Canada: Pendrel was in lead and the only one able to follow was JulieBresset who showed her talent in the various technical downhill sections and followed Catherine Pendrel pedal stroke for pedal stroke. When Julie started her final attack , Pendrel couldn´t follow and had some problems in the following descent, so Julie could go in lead with more than 30 seconds. Julie Bresset showed again an outstanding performance and a brilliant race. Her winning time was 1:35:36 and she is now leading the overall ranking with 1110 points in front of Catherine Pendrel (+39 sec) with 920 points, followed by WERX team made Annika Langvad who´s in great shape at the moment what she demonstrated with 3rd place within this race and by gaining the UCI Marathon Worldchampion title two weeks ago.
Also SR SUNTOUR WERX team rider Maxime Marotte finished with an excellent 5th place behind a Specialized dominated podium in the men race. With Kulhavy leading the field from the beginning, Schurter, Vogel, Sauser and Marotte started a serious fight for the 2nd place. In this group with current and past World Champions, Maxime Marotte showed a great performance and managed to join the pursuit on the podium while one after the other began to fade.
