A World Championship title is something every committed racer’s heart is set on. SRAM, RockShox, Avid and TRUVATIV riders made their dreams come true last weekend at the World Championships in Champery, Switzerland, winning in all disciplines.
Jaroslav Kulhavy (CZE-Specialized Factory Racing) crowned his dominating 2011 season with the Men Elite XC rainbow jersey after a textbook perfect race, on his bike equipped with the new RockShox SID 29, SRAM XX 2X10 drivetrain and Avid XX World Cup brakes. Behind him, Nino Schurter (Scott-Swisspower) and Julien Absalon (Orbea) made this the third podium sweep in a row for SRAM XX athletes at World Championships.
Danny Hart (GBR-Giant Off-road team) won the Elite Men’s downhill on X0 DH. A first for him but the second time X0 DH gets to wear the World Champ stripes. Hart won with an absolutely incredible winning margin of 11 seconds over the second place finisher. Hart’s run took place in some of the most extreme weather conditions on a track that is so steep and difficult, it chewed up and spit out most who dared to enter.
Troy Brosnan (AUS-Monster Energy Specialized) won in the Junior Men’s downhill, with a time that would have earned him the 2nd place amongst the Elites!
In 4X it was Anneke Berteen (Milka Trek) and Michal Prokop (Specialized) who, heat after heat, dominated their way to the World Championship title.
Five athletes, five jerseys, five rainbow stripes, all SRAM.
