SRM Releases New Rotor 3D+ and Shimano XT Mountain Bike PowerMeter

News

Leader in power measurement technology continues to offer crank flexibility and superior accuracy to the Mountain Bike industry.

Colorado Springs, Colo. (August 14th, 2012) – SRM is proud to announce the release of two new mountain bike specific power meters! The new SRM Rotor 3D+ 2×10 and SRM Shimano MTB 2×10 PowerMeters!

With many XC, ultra endurance, and Enduro courses remaining the same from year to year, having a PowerMeter equipped bike allows the racer to record the specific demands needed to race a particular event. This allows the racer to tailor their training more specifically at critical time periods throughout the training season leading to goal events from which data was recorded a season prior. Knowing how many repeated accelerations, length and duration of climbs, as well as average power for a certain event can completely reshape the parameters of the typical training program.

Built on the same race proven chassis of the entire SRM MTB product line, the SRM Rotor 3D+ 2×10 and SRM Shimano MTB 2×10 PowerMeters will allow those performance minded mountain bike riders to ride with Rotor Q-Rings as well as round rings compatible with Shimano MTB drive trains.

Each product has been rigorously tested across the globe to ensure maximum weatherproofing and durability both on the trail and race course. Power and cadence data is transmitted via ANT+Sport™ protocol and received with either SRM PowerControl 7 head unit or other ANT+Sport™ compatible devices. All SRM MTB PowerMeters have 950 hours of battery life and have a proven accuracy rating of less than 1.5%.

“The SRM Rotor 3D+ MTB PowerMeter is the perfect training tool, super light weight for racing with durable alloy for tackling the rough trails. I have been able to fine tune my training on the trails taking my mountain bike racing to the next level. The standard 2×10 BCD allows me to run Rotor Q-Rings or the standard round rings depending on the course.” – Brandon Rakita, Professional Triathlete
