SUN-Ringlé 2014 27.5 Wheels – Black Flag, Charger, A.D.D.

27.5 29er Wheels

SUN-Ringlé jumps full force into the 27.5/650b movement with models available across their 3 most popular models. The Black Flag wheels are XC oriented, the Charger is All Mountain/Trail oriented and the ADD (A.nother D.amn D.ownhiller) is for the DH/Freeride set and they now all come in 27.5″ wheel size. The Black Flag and Charger wheels will continue to be available in 26″ and 29er versions as well (the ADD is available in 26 and 27.5 only). SUN-Ringlé makes wheels that may not be the lightest, but they offer solid durability at a good price.

In addition, the Black Flag and Charger wheels are also available in the “Pro SL” series with lighter, improved parts. The SL series are race worthy wheels that use proprietary 6000-series aluminum for the rim that has a deeper dish (than the non-SL version), bladed spokes and it has lost a lot of weight in the hub (as compared to the standard hub). The SL series freehub uses a 4 pawl system with 7.5 degrees of engagement for a very responsive, quick wheel.

All of these wheels are available now from your local SUN-Ringlé dealer.

It is very disappointing that such a great wheelset cannot be used with such a great drivetrain as the XX1. Oh well, life is full of disappointments.

Do they make them in 26″? Not a fan of bigger wheels as the fun factor goes way down, not into monster truck feel, it tames the trail and requires less rider skill to operate, good for people who didn’t ride bikes when they were young and lack the skill set I guess
