TEAM AMERICA’S CHRIS HERNDON SWEEPS THE SNOWSHOE POWERADE RACE SERIES!

News Race Coverage

(Glen Rock, New Jersey) – Chris Herndon and Cole Bangert held down first and second place finishes this past weekend at Snowshoe Mountain, securing the weekend’s top spots in both dual slalom and downhill to solidify the series overall championship for Chris Herndon.

Being the series leader going into the final event, Team American and 2007 U.S. Dual Slalom National Champion, Chris Herndon, had the privilege of watching the entire field take-off by being the last rider out of the start house. Herndon, who raced all three of Snowshoe’s Powerade Series events was able to secure first place in all three downhill races, as well as all three dual slalom events, and undoubtedly winning himself the lion’s share of the series’ $25,000 cash purse.

Team America teammate and 2007 U.S. Downhill National Champion, Cole Bangert, was the second rider out of the gate and sat in the hot seat for the duration of the race until Herndon came through, knocking him out by two seconds and claiming his third downhill victory. Herndon is quick to credit his teammate for their success over the weekend: “Having Cole at this event was a blast! It was great having another teammate [at the series finals] to discuss line choices and practice together,” said Herndon, “Snowshoe is a unique place, the racers are all so friendly and that is what makes it so great for me. It seems like it’s own little world within racing and I am glad to be apart of all the fun that goes on there.”

Keep an eye out for the Team America boys as they finish out the season heading to Schladming, Austria for the last World Cup, followed by the two remaining Jeep 48Straight events, as well as the 12-hour Red Bull Burner downhill race and Interbike.
