Gold Award Winner: Adlerwerke Bicycle Carrier

Under the traditional name of Adlerwerke, the bicycle manufacturer of the same name is presenting a new roof carrier, which impressed the judges with its minimalistic approach. “Thanks to the small pad size, this carrier system can be easily fitted to existing support rails. By attaching it to the handlebars and saddle, it provides a quick and low-cost solution for transporting high-end bikes without any risk of damage to the frame. Its overall simplicity is very impressive.”

Riiiight. No damage to the frame (cause, you know, there are no upright carriers out there that make no contact with frame; nope, none exist yet). Instead, potential damage/scratches/rips to my carbon bars, saddle, grips, brake master cylinders or levers, shifters and whatever other appendages people run these days… Plus, a top-heavy bike setup that must feel sooo natural to attach to your roof – way easier than just lifting a bike up and standing it up in whatever cradles or wheel holders one might be using on their (non-existent as of yet) upright carrier. Also, always a good idea to have your brakes upside down for some time right before a ride. These things will fly off the shelves!
