Thomas Genon conquers all at Red Bull Joyride during Crankworx Whistler to take first place at the first Diamond event of the 2012 season! An amazing variety of technical tricks and big air stunts gave the 19-year-old TSG rider from Belgium the biggest victory of his career!
Thomas became a Slopestyle superstar in front of the 25,000 spectators attending the Slopestyle finals at Red Bull Joyride, along with the wide global audience who tuned in via the live webcast. This young rider from Belgium has shown true potential as a top class competitor amongst Slopestyle athletes, achieving a massive score of 90.2. Thomas absolutely shredded the course, putting down the biggest front flips, impressive tail whips and stylish technical combos. Thomas now moves into third place in the overall FMB World Tour ranking behind Martin Soderstrom.
Martin Soderstrom who was hot on Thomas’s tail, was highly motivated to come out and regain the lead of the FMB World Tour by beating Brandon Semenuk, who for the first time this year failed to take away overall ranking points. Martin was putting down amazing runs and attempted a killer 360 double whip from the cabin kicker but didn’t carry enough speed into the trick and crashed at the top of the landing.
Keeping your bike underneath you when gravity brings you back down is not always easy – but Thomas made clear that Red Bull Joyride 2012 was his for the taking. Whether you were there or watching it live online, the atmosphere was incredible and the suspense was unbearable! To re-live all the action click here to watch the live replay! We can’t wait to head to Red Bull Rampage for the season finale on October 7th and thanks to the Red Bull Media House you won’t miss any action as you can check out the live webcast of this event on www.fmbworldtour.com.
