Fat bikes are kind of ridiculous. With their oversized tires and goofy proportions, they look like a bloated caricature of a modern mountain bike. Yet it’s these very characteristics that enable them to conquer terrain that would be unrideable on just about any other vehicle (bike or otherwise).

We’ve seen a number of our riding buddies purchase these lumbering beasts as a second or third bike (because N+1). But we have to wonder, are they actually fun to ride? The team at the Global Mountain Bike Network set out to discover the truth. Watch and learn.
