Star rider stops at Western Bikeworks on way to Oregon Enduro Series race, shows off custom rig
Multi-time world and national gravity mountain bike champion Brian Lopes is known for being a fierce competitor, and has a reputation for being serious both on and off the bike. And while at age 43 Lopes is as intense as ever while racing, he’s actually quite affable otherwise. Case-in-point—this MTV Cribs-style video he shot with Portland’s Western Bikeworks on the way to the Hood River stop of the Oregon Enduro Series last week.
Lopes dials up his best faux baller persona as he points out the finer points of his rolling palace—the “garage” that holds his Intense Tracer 275 and Carbine 29, the Sprinter van’s 650b wheels, and its rooftop patio. He also takes viewers inside to see his well-stocked refrigerator, sleeping quarters and entertainment center.
The van seems to be working out for Lopes—he finished third overall at Hood River, and took the win on stage six.
