The Accident: Chris is in the middle off the photo falling off big cliff after his bike slipped off the rock on top.
A road to recovery video from one of the best freestyle mountain bikers in the world.
I first learned about Chris Akrigg when he released a video called A Hill In Spain about a year ago. I was blown away by the way he blended different styles of riding and made it all flow.
A big part of what makes these videos so special is how easy and flawless each jump, stunt and trick seems. But it's easy to forget (as viewers) just how real the danger is. 7 months ago Chris fell off of a cliff, literally and shattered his femur.
One steel rod and many sessions on the indoor trainer later, Chris is now well on the road to recovery. Only a superstar such as Chris can make an XC ride seem exciting (the rockin' soundtrack and cool trail dog help, too!)
About the video, Chris says, "So this video is a little update on my progress. Its been a tough time since my accident but i feel I'm finally starting to get somewhere. I know its not the best riding i've ever done but its where i'm at at the moment, like i say in the vid i'm not 100 percent but i will get there and i can't wait to be back to full strength.
Thanks for all the support people, i will be back.... "
We wish you a speedy recovery, Chris!
