Video: Crankworx Air DH Race on the A-Line Trail

The Fox Air DH aka Whistler A-Line Downhill Race happened again to day and Steve Smith and Jill Kintner came away victorious. This race is one of the most glamorous around since it is held on the hallowed A-Line trail, perhaps the most famous trail in the world. A-Line is a flow and jump trail and it tests the rider’s speed, cornering and jump ability as the rider is sent into the air on dozens of huge jumps.

This year’s conditions were a little bit rough as Whistler has not had rain in the past 30 days. But true to form, the skies opened up with a bit of light rain hours before the event. Check the video below and revel in one of the greatest trails in the world.

Video: Steve Smith clinched the win in the Fox Air DH, plummeting down A-Line’s 1,200 vertical feet with a time of 4:12.08. Smith was the last rider of the day Wednesday and bumped Australia’s Mick Hannah out of first place, inching himself ahead of the field by one second and 77 one-hundredths of a second.
