Uhhhhh….you can safely score your aluminum bars??

Aluminum has no fatigue limit (every impact or stress weakens it, there’s no threshold). Putting even a small stress riser on an aluminum part in the form of a scratch is a TERRIBLE idea, especially if that aluminum part is a thin-walled high-end alloy bar.

Also-first aid kit in your seatpost? You’ll probably need it from stuffing it riding a rigid post….just sayin.

If you’re going to post tips MTBR, post tips that are (at best) relevant and (at worst) don’t suggest damaging the bike!!
