Windham Secures Sponsors for Three Big UCI Races at World Cup Finals

Windham, N.Y. – Three important companies with an international reputation have partnered with the Windham World Cup Group as sponsors of the three Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) races at the Mountain Bike World Cup Finals presented by Shimano to be held at Windham Mountain Aug. 26 – 29.

Nema International, a performance cycling apparel manufacturer, is the main sponsor of the 2010 UCI World Cup downhill finals where riders race the clock on treacherous descents.

Subaru is the main sponsor of the 2010 UCI World Cup cross country finals, a course of narrow, rocky paths through forests and streams.

FOX Racing Shox, a high performance shock absorbers and racing suspension company, is the main sponsor of the 2010 UCI World Cup four-cross (4X) finals where four riders at a time race a fast downhill course with jumps and banked corners.

“Windham is the perfect showcase for the world to see what North American riders have known all along – we have some of the best terrain and courses in a spectacular setting,” said Nick Bove, race director of the Windham 2010 Mountain Bike World Cup. “The support of these major worldwide companies raises the profile of our event to an even greater level and helps introduce the sport to entirely new audiences.”

The 2010 World Cup Finals, the last stop on a tour which also visited North Yorkshire, Great Britain; Houffalize, Belgium; Offenburg, Germany; Fort William, UK; Schladming, Austria; Champéry, Switzerland; and Val di Sole, Italy, will attract the world’s top professional cyclists.

The U.S. last hosted a mountain bike World Cup in 2005 at the Angel Fire resort in New Mexico; the finals have never before been held in the U.S.
