There are few other names in mountain biking that can compare to the legend that is Brian Lopes. From his early beginning racing BMX, it was clear that Brian was destined for great things on two wheels. He is an multiple National and World Champion, Mountain Bike Hall of Fame inductee and an all around ambassador for the sport.

In honor of his long and prolific career, X-Fusion has released this video giving a look back at Brian and his love of racing on two wheels. Check it out:

Besides the interview video, the guys at X-Fusion also dug up a few old photos from Brian’s BMX days. Although he had earned a reputation as a tough guy to get along with, at times earlier in his career, Brian Lopes has always been open and honest when we’ve interviewed him and chatted about bikes and racing. MTBR.com would like to congratulate Brian on a solid 40 years and look forward to even more.
