Vote on the Winners of the Kazlaw Community Mountain Biking Award

Vote on the Winners of the Kazlaw Community Mountain Biking Award

Last month, we announced the Kazlaw Community Mountain Biking Award – providing two spots at BC Bike Race 2011 for people who make mountain biking happen in their communities.

We’ve had a number of inspiring riders nominated for this award and there’re still three days left to nominate someone. Check out more details here.

On April 6th, we’ll announce the eligible nominees on our website and put it back to you to VOTE ON THE MOST DESERVING RIDERS.

The snow’s started to melt and everyone seems to be getting back onto their bikes this month. That also means a number of you have started thinking about your summer and have registered for this year’s race, pushing us to OVER 80% SOLD OUT! Now’s your last chance to register for this year’s race – REGISTER NOW!

Not sure if you’re up to the full distance of BC Bike Race this summer? Well maybe the shorter Challenge Course is right for you. Remember, you can change your registration from Challenge to Epic Distance (and vice versa) closer to Race Week if you need to.

Also, make sure to check out our new and updated BC Bike Ride Tours Page.

Squamish – Stage Profile

Squamish - Stage Profile

Three years in a row, the Day Six course in Squamish has been voted the favourite stage by BCBR participants. This year, Dave and Sandra at Corsa Cycles have worked hard to take the course to the next level!

The race starts and finishes at Brennan Park Rec Centre – a Base Camp in the shadow of the magnificent local mountains. From here, riders are tossed into some classic trails like Mashiter and Tracks from Hell, skirting around picturesque Edith Lake. After climbing towards Garibaldi Park, the reward is Squamish’s new, pump-track-esque Half Nelson trail and the swoopy Psuedotsuga trails – unreal! After powering through Hoods in the Woods and dropping down the infamous Powerhouse Plunge , they’ll return to finish at Brennan Park where a cold beverage at the Beer Garden awaits. To see what we’re talking about, check out our 2010 Day Six Video and Shimano’s XTR Squamish Feature!
