Northwave Cedric Gracia Enduro Shoe

Northwave Cedric Gracia Enduro Shoe

Channel your inner Cedric Gracia with this signature enduro shoe from Northwave. Designed to be durable and comfortable, this is the first cycling shoe to feature a Michelin-made sole. The under side utilizes two durometers of rubber, one to grip the pedals, the other to grip that steep rock wall you decide to walk (not ride) down. Retention is provided by a Boa-like micro-step dial that comes with a protective cover so you don’t smash it the first time you have an unscheduled dismount. MSRP: $189. CatEye Volt 6000 Light

CatEye Volt 6000 Light

The creators of the first HID light introduced this first LED light with an integrated fan. Heat is the enemy for all LED lights and light heads get extremely hot, meaning electronics have to throttle down output to lower levels when there’s not enough airflow. CatEye went big with 6000 lumens of output and they keep the light head bright and cool with a fan spinning at 10,000 rpm cooling the system. Price: $800. Crankbrother Mallet E

Crankbrothers Mallet E Pedal

Looking to squash its less than stellar product reliability reputation, Crankbrothers has overhauled its line of pedals, switching to Enduro cartridge bearings inboard and Igus LL-glide bearings outboard. They’re also using a new double seal system designed to prevent water and debris from entering the pedals. And on the new Mallet E enduro pedals they’ve incorporated an interchangeable polyurethane pad that’s designed to optimize cleat engagement and shoe tread contact with the pedal body. Riders can choose between 1mm and 2mm pads depending on preference. The Mallet E are also 50 grams lighter than the old Mallet DH, have 6 adjustable pins per side, and come with a 5-year warranty just in case. Price: $165. Learn more at www.crankbrothers.com
