Daniel: A Cyclist with TBI Making a Difference

Someone is making the Lake Tahoe area a better place.

Daniel suffered a traumatic brain injury as a child. He was playing along the bluffs near San Diego and essentially feel off a cliff. He was in a coma and the doctors didn’t think he was going to make it and suggested to his mother that it might be best to pull life support. She wouldn’t have that and, after 8 months, he emerged from the coma – with very serious brain damage.

His family moved to South Lake Tahoe in the 1980s and has been there since. His road to recovery was a long (and not full) one. But, that hasn’t kept him from riding his bike every day, making a difference in his community and inspiring the athlete in all of us.
