Bicycling Magazine names Lazer Nut’Z Children’s Helmet as Best Bike Gear for kids!

Bicycling Magazine has named the Lazer Nut’Z Children’s Helmet as one of their favorite items for young cyclists! You can see their post regarding the Nut’Z helmet online here. Bicycling Magazine is one of the top cycling publications in the United States with a circulation of nearly 500,000.

The Nut’Z helmet uses the innovative Lazer Autofit® retention system which eliminates the need to manually adjust the helmet retention. To put the helmet on simply pull the rear basket and the head belt away from each other, put the helmet on the head and the Autofit® system will automatically tighten itself around the head for an optimal fit each and every time!

As Bicycling Magazine writes:

“That means your days of spinning dials, sliding adjusters, and pulling hair are done.”

The Nut’Z helmet is available in nine graphic combinations, uses an In-Mold construction process, has 16 vents and weighs 300 grams. it fits rider head circumferences between 50-56cm.

For riders with smaller heads (46-54cm) the Lazer P’Nut helmet offers all the same features as the Nut’Z helmet!

The Lazer Nut’Z and P’Nut helmets are in stock and available now!

Lazer Sport debuts new product at 2012 Tour de France!

Two new products were introduced by Lazer at last month’s Tour de France, the Wasp aerodynamic helmet and the Smooth Aeroshell.

The Wasp helmet, shown above in use by Lotto-Belisol rider Jurgen Van Den Broeck during the Stage 9 time trial, has been in development over the past year and is the world’s fastest commercially available helmet!

During the testing of the Wasp helmet the STAPS institute has concluded a performance advantage of between 2 and 4 watts at 45kph, or 12 seconds over 40 kilometers, as compared to the closest competition. When compared to a slow helmet the performance gain is as high as 12 watts! The Wasp helmet will be available in the Spring of 2013.

Lotto-Belisol sprinter Andre Greipel won three stages of the 2012 Tour using the new Smooth Aeroshell!

As opposed to the previous Aeroshell design, where the outer surface of the shell matches the contour of the helmet surface, the new Aeroshell surface is completely smooth providing an even greater aerodynamic benefit. A performance advantage of between 4 and 10 watts can be realized with the new Smooth Aeroshell! The Smooth Aeroshell will also be available in Spring 2013.

Ken Hanson, Optum Professional Cycling and Lazer win the USA Criterium National Championship!

Lazer Helmet and Eyewear equipped Optum Pro Cycling Team provided Ken Hanson with the perfect leadout to win the 2012 USA Criterium National Championship on July 28!

Optum Team Director Jonas Carney tells the story:

With nine to go, our nine-man team took the front. A few riders were able to overtake our train a couple times, but never a complete team. We would just stay together and roll back over them – it was really executed perfectly by all of our guys. With three to go, we were down to five guys. With two to go, we had four riders left and Cody O’Reilly took a monster pull to get us to the bell lap. On the final lap, things were looking good – we were leading with Friedman, Cando, and Hanson, three riders who are well schooled in the art of the lead-out. A few riders were able to overtake them going into corner one, but then Cando uncorked his sprint on the backside of the course. From there it was just a drag race, and Cando devliered Hanson through the last two corners safely and dropped him off inside 300 meters. It was almost picture perfect, and Ken closed the deal, winning by a couple of bike lengths over Brad Huff (Jelly Belly) and Brad White (UnitedHealthcare).

Lazer is proud to support the Optum Professional Cycling Team and congratulations the team and Ken on the National Championship win!
