Making protective gear that looks as good as it performs
Leatt unleashes a round of updates across its product line for 2017.
Leatt marketing and communications manager Stephanie Slattery shows off the protective gear company’s latest products for 2017.
Leatt, the highly-regarded designer of protective riding gear that looks as good as it performs, has a host of updates across its 2017 product line.
Key changes include the addition of the new DBX 3.0 Enduro helmet, which uses a 360-degree Turbine design where a series of small discs on the underside of the helmet mitigate rotational impact forces. Additionally, this new helmet features an easily removable chinbar, which is operated via two simple snaps.
Leatt also introduced lower-profile versions of its popular gloves, with minimal and lightweight brush guard factors and Nanogrips — a pliable palm-lining material that’s constructed of individual strands that are 7500 times thinner than a piece of human hair.
Also featured are new protective jackets, including the 3DF Air-Fit Chest Protector that has Level-1 CE certification for impact protection. Finally be on the look out for new colors and graphics on the Five.Five neck braces, and plus new riding jerseys and shorts.
Leatt DBX 3.0 Enduro Helmet
This new helmet is engineered to help you go from downhill to uphill riding without having to change helmets. Made of a polycarbonate outer shell, it is lightweight and, the helmet’s key differentiator, is that it is equipped with a removable chinbar. The helmet is also super ventilated – even at very low speeds, as it is equipped with 18 vents.
Leatt DBX 6.0 Carbon Helmet
Leatt is redefining head and brain protection with the revolutionary new carbon DBX helmet. Featuring ground breaking 360° Turbine Technology for concussion and brain rotation safety, this helmet's shell is smaller, lightweight, and super ventilated even at low speeds.
Leatt DBX 3.0 Enduro Helmet
The DBX 3.0 helmet is designed to carry you safely across any terrain. The combination of 360 ̊ Turbine Technology and Armourgel cushioning material gives you premium protection to help you push your limits. An energy absorbing material that is flexible in its natural state, Armourgel hardens upon impact, so the faster or harder you fall, the better it works. Turbines made of this Armourgel are set inside the helmet. This technology helps with brain and rotation safety and reduces the head impact at concussion level by up to 30% and the rotational acceleration to the head and brain by up to 40%.
Leatt DBX 2.0 X-Flow Glove
The X-Flow gloves are the lightest in the Leatt range with an upper made of fully vented four-way stretch mesh material. It has brush guard reinforcements over the fingers and knuckles, which is an ultra-thin and four-way flex film that is feather-light and increases scratch and abrasion resistance properties of base material. Its palm is made of ultra-thin NanoGrip palm material, with fibers that are 7,500 times thinner than a human hair. It makes the palm super stretchy with premium wet and dry grip properties, and the fingers are touch screen optimized. The pre-curved, seamless palm, multi-ply nylon thread stitching and stretch fit cuff further enhances comfort.
Leatt DBX 3.0 Lite Glove
The 3.0 Lite glove upper is made of light and vented four-way stretch material. The knuckles are reinforced with 3D molded Armourgel, an energy absorbing solution that is flexible in its natural state, but hardens upon impact, providing your knuckles with premium protection. It is CE tested and certified as Personal Protective Equipment as well as CE tested as impact protection.
Leatt DBX 4.0 Lite Glove
The 4.0 Lite gloves are made of four-way stretch material that offers maximum ventilation. The knuckles as well as third and fourth fingers are reinforced with 3D molded Armourgel impact protection panels, an energy absorbing solution that is flexible in its natural state, but that hardens upon impact. The 4.0 Lite gloves are CE tested and certified as Personal Protective Equipment, as well as CE tested as impact protection.
Leatt DBX 4.0 Windblock Glove
The Windblock glove is ideal for colder weather, as the upper and finger sides are made of four-way stretch material that is both water resistant and windproof. The gloves are further equipped with 3D molded Armourgel impact protection panels on the knuckles, as well as the third and fourth finger. Armourgel is flexible in its natural state, but hardens upon impact, so the harder or faster you fall, the better it works. The DBX Windblock gloves are CE tested and certified as Personal Protective Equipment, as well as CE tested as impact protection.

It is still breathable and has laser-cut ventilation holes to keep you cool regardless of riding conditions. Made to be worn with your other gear, its knees offer a pre-curved 3D fit that will avoid snagging during pedalling, even when worn with your knee protectors. Even though it blocks the weather, it will keep you cool with zippered rear ventilation. With a pre-curved 3D shaped knee area that prevents snagging, the shorts are designed to be comfortable even when pedalling with protectors. The knee area is also reinforced with brush guard for protection. To make the fit even more comfortable, it has a soft touch, seamless and durable seat area and a soft touch waist lining with back gripper that will prevent seat drop.
