What is it
The Digital Shock Drive from Lezyne is an ultra portable shock pump with a digital gauge. It is constructed from CNC machined aluminum and features a nylon braided hose with an integrated pressure relief valve. It’s powered by a CR12220 battery that is user replaceable. Lezyne claims it can produce 350 psi (24 bar).
- Slim profile
- Solid construction
- Easy to read gauge
- User replaceable battery
- You said it costs how much?
- Does not display kg/cm2 (if you’re into that sort of thing)
You don’t always need a shock pump when you’re on the trail, but when you do, having a compact and accurate pump is a godsend. The new Lezyne Digital Shock Drive fits that profile perfectly.
This shop quality tool is significantly slimmer than your average pump, which makes it a joy to carry. It’s constructed from premium materials and makes most pumps we’ve used feel cheap in comparison.
The digital gauge uses a large and easy to read font that displays in either PSI or BAR. To swap between the two, you simply touch the power button. Holding the power button down for ten seconds will zero gauge.
We tested the gauge for accuracy, back to back with several units and received roughly the same readings. All pumps give slightly different readings, so if you’re hoping for the utmost accuracy, you should use the same pump every time.
There’s no getting around it, at $75, this shock pump is expensive. The pump that came with your mountain bike was free and does the exact same job. But here’s the thing, the Lezyne pump is smaller and more compact than its competitors, which makes it easier to travel with and carry. If ease of portability, quality, and accuracy are all things that matter to you in a shock pump, you should consider the Lezyne. If not, that freebie analog pump will serve you just fine.
