Highlighted by the new Deemax Pro wheelset that Sam Hill rode to the Enduro World Series overall title, Mavic’s 2018 U.S. mountain bike range is an impressive collection. Here is an overview of select items from the line, which will be available at Mavic.com and at select retailers across the country. All images are courtesy Mavic.
Deemax Pro ($1099): The newest wheel in the Deemax line has a reduced spoke-count, Zicral spokes, and slimmer rim widths (25mm rear, 28mm front). This nets weight savings and reduced rolling resistance.
XA Elite+ ($649): Features include a 40mm internal rim width recommended for use with 2.35-3.2 tires, and steel spokes laced to Mavic ITS-4 hubs. Claimed weight is 1900 grams per pair.
XA Pro Helmet ($150): Mavic’s newest trail helmet, the XA Pro, utilizes a clima flow ventilation system that’s designed to keep you cool on hot rides. Expanded lower rear coverage and EPS 4D impact technology helps increase protection.
Crossmax SL Pro w/ MIPS ($170): A race-bred pure cross country lid that combines speed and style. The 2018 helmet line sees the inclusion of MIPS technology to a Live-fit system that delivers adaptable comfort and safety throughout your ride, minimizing hot spots.
XA Pro Shoe ($180): Striking a balance between pedaling performance and flexibility for walking/hiking, the new XA Pro features a carbon composite inner plate that delivers pedaling performance. It’s wrapped in a new Energy Grip Trail + Outsole that provides stability and pedal control.
Crossmax Pro Shoe ($250): The Crossmax Pro is back with new colorways for 2018. Featuring an Energy Grip Terra Carbon outsole that’s lightweight and stiff, converting maximum energy in each pedal stroke and 3D+ Ortholite cushioning, it’s as efficient on the way up as it is comfortable on the way down.
Deemax Short and Undershort ($130/ $70): Rugged enough to handle the rowdiest missions, yet understated in its styling, the Deemax Short/Undershort combo is an everyday short for trail riding.
