Maintenance nightmare? Marin's don't have pivot issues like Santa Cruz (judging by all the Marins I know of that don't have ANY pivot issues compared to every SC VPP bike I know of and can hear from a mile away creeking like crazy) I'd be willing to bet probably the least maintenance you could find on a full blown DH bike. 250mm travel - that does seem a tad silly but I don't race DH...
250mm travel most likely because it sits in 4 inches of negative travel when you have the sag set up correctly. One thing for sure though, that's one ugly-arse Dh'er.
I think it looks awesome, and judging by the way their xc bikes ride, it ought to be a pretty pedal friendly DH rig despite the travel being nearly 10". Marin sure doesn't get a lot of credit but their new bikes are quietly awesome from what I have ridden
I'm just glad we got a close up of the graphics. Prospective buyers will want to know how Marin's brand identity is carried through to the downhill segment, not necessarily what the linkage design and rear shock integration might look like.
i love the paint job, my quake needs bob all in the way of linkage maintenance, 10 year backup on bearings....serious. no creeks no squeeks, love my fr ripper
totem coil, mtx, hopes whizz pop bang
