Five-day backcountry race kicks off in Colorado high country

The five-day Crested Butte Ultra Enduro kicked off Wednesday in the Colorado high country with two special stages and whole ton of climbing in between. Peak elevation for the day was well above 12,000 feet. Pro category day 1 leads went to Marco Osborne (WTB-Cannondale Overmountain) and Kathy Pruit (Juliana Bicycles). You can see full results here. Day One included Stage one and two and at the end of the day, Marco Osborne and Kathy Pruitt held the top spots. Another standout is Jerome Clementz who is back racing and just overjoyed to be back on his bike. But the real winners are all the participants who got in the race, got the week ‘off’ their day jobs to experience Crested Butte and get get a preview of the Enduro World Series event coming here next year.
