Pivot Cycles has been busy introducing new, revolutionary bikes as well as thoroughly updating bikes with a loyal following. Pivot was one of the busiest booths at Interbike, with about 250-300 bikes going out to riders on each Outdoor Demo day in Northstar. And we have no doubt it would have been a lot more if the line was not so long.

And indoors, their booth was constantly abuzz with dealers media and riders. Find out what the interest was all about as we showcase three of their bikes.

The Mach 5.5 Carbon builds on the legacy of our renowned Mach 5.7 Carbon as the quintessential trail bike. With 140mm of dw-link™ rear travel, it sticks to and claws up just about anything, with unparalleled pedaling efficiency. On descents, the Mach 5.5 Carbon’s incredible square edge bump performance and 160mm travel Fox 36 fork enables you to conquer terrain that makes other bikes cower. It’s a bike that inspires you to climb while looking forward to the descents and that begs you to push your limits while putting a smile on your face.

Versatility—that’s the Switchblade’s calling card and the reason this bike immediately rocketed to the top of several cycling media best-of lists. As a long-travel 29er, the Switchblade is a next-level enduro bike that begs for fast, steep and technical trails. As a 27.5+ machine, the Switchblade combines spider-man traction with the shortest chainstays in the category for the ultimate all-terrain, all-conditions ride. One bike. Any trail.

Enduro courses. World Cup Downhill courses. It’s hard to tell the difference between the two these days. Well, right up until the point when you have to grind your way to the top of the absolute hairball descent—that would be enduro. And that is also where the new Firebird 29 enters the picture—with its speed generating 29er wheels and a penchant for kicking ass. The Firebird 29’s big wheels gobble up miles with ease, roll right over the gnar and add insane levels of traction to the mix. But this is no monster truck.

The Firebird 29 is a lightweight machine that boasts a poppy, lively feel that long-travel 29ers have never possessed. Until now.
