The Swiss dominated the elite titles, team relay, and u-23 comp at the 2017 World Championship in Cairns, Australia.

This year, World Champs was held in Cairns, Australia. The dusty 2.6 miles (4.3 km) course was absolutely brutal.

In the elite women’s race, Jolanda Neff and Annie Last quickly broke from the pack. They rode together until the fourth lap, when Neff attacked and eventually opened a two minute gap. You can catch the highlights above.

On the men’s side, it was a battle between the two greatest racers of all time. Nino Schurter and Jaroslav Kulhavy would duke it out until the final climb, when Schurter made a move. He’d cross the finish line with a seven second lead. The win marks the completion of a perfect season for Schurter, who won all six World Cup races. Watch the action unfold in the video above.
