Way back in January, Salsa created quite a stir with news of a prototype full suspension fat bike. The popular Mtbr Fat Bike Forum was abuzz with a lot of interest in such a creation. Recently, Mtbr was shown the working prototype in it’s most current form and we had a chance to get some words about how it rides from Salsa Cycles main man, Mike ‘Kid’ Riemer. Watch this vid for the words direct from Kid, himself.
The bike shown here is Kid’s personal ride. One of the major hurdles is the type of fork that would be spec’d on this bike. We didn’t get a chance to ride the prototype ourselves (we were too busy tasting the new Surly Krampus), but if the support and enthusiasm in the forums is any indication, Salsa NEEDS to build this bike.
For more info on non-prototype models from Salsa Cycles, check out their website. Also, be sure to check out their video contest, the winner receives a Ti Mukluk AND an Alaskan Adventure!
