As part of a campaign to offer Spank components in Canada in 2010, Spank Industries has recently expanded the Canadian division of their Spank Disciples team with the addition of four new riders, a DH training team, and one master trail builder! Adding to the Canadian Disciples group led by freerider Ryan Berrecloth, who has been with Spank for several years, Spank has now rounded out its group of Cannucks with new talented DH, Slope and Dirtjump competitors.

One bright star in this group is Fernie, BC local Paul Genovese, who has recently signed with Spank for 2010/2011. Paul is a member of the Banshee Grassroots team, where he has been making his way through the ranks of Canadian Slopestylers. Turning just seventeen years old this year, he is already getting a lot of attention as a regular at events like the Goat Style Bike Jam, where he's been a finalist since he was fourteen, including one junior victory!

One amazing advantage Paul has over the hordes of talented young up-and-comer is his ability to produce high quality web-edits close to home. For this credit must be given to his brother Nick Genevese, who has turned out some really impressive stuff over the past couple of years and just keeps getting better. Nick's work can be seen at https://nickag52.pinkbike.com/. The two have just collaborated once again to release a sweet new spec check in cooperation with Banshee and Spank Industries. It's obvious with just a quick look that we will see a lot more of these brothers in the near future. https://www.pinkbike.com/video/143679/

{Paul Genovese - Shredder} "I live in Fernie B.C, and I am 16 years old. I started riding Downhill and Freeride when I was 9. Now I manly ride dirt jumps, because it is my favorite style of riding and a lot easier to see my progression. Since my first ride, biking has been my number 1 passion and I am deeply committed to shredding! I currently ride for Spank, Banshee, Straightline Bike shop, And Deadicated apparel. I have been annually entering contests such as: Goat Style Bike jam, Dert Series in Kimberley B.C, and Fernie Alpine Resort Dual Slalom racing, also this year I will be entering Gopher style jump competition in Fort McLeod , Centre of Gravity, (Kelowna B.C.), also the Dirt jump contest being held at the local jumps in Fernie during Full Throttle this season."
Big thanks to Spank for hooking me up this season with great parts and an awesome team!

{Mike Dutton - Spank Brand Manager} We've made a strong move this year to bring Spank components and frames to our friends in Canada. Part of our initial plan involved the sponsorship of selected groups like Camp of Champions and the organizers of Kicking Horse Mountain's BC Cup Finals, to give a little back to the scene. Another was an expansion of our Spank Disciples team in Canada, and Paul Genovese makes a perfect addition! We are stoked for the chance to bring in a sixteen year old with his talent and feel Paul shows the potential to really make a move in the next couple of years with the right support. One of the first good looks we got at Paul's skills was a short web-edit from early in the season, where he stomped a 720 on a loose double at his local jumps, and we've been committed ever since! We have high hopes for Paul to develop into a top level jumper, and with his incredible attitude…a future ambassador for the sport and brand! Keep your eyes on this guy!
