At last year’s Kona Blast we invited 125 dealers from across the US for two days of learning, riding and conversating. It was a huge success, allowing many a Kona dealer to gain greater insight into:
Kona family: how, why and where we develop our bicycles. We see no reason to buck the trend, and are currently planning a 2nd Annual dealer event to be held in Bellingham, Washington, the week of August 15, 2011 – The Kona Luau. Get ready to be transported to dreamy trails, fresh 2012 bikes, and loads of good times, Hawaiian style.
The Trails: The riding in and around Ferndale and Bellingham is spectacular, home to a diverse network of trails, all through beautiful coastal rainforest. Whether you ride our new carbon fiber 29ers on Galbraith Mountain – Washington’s “North Shore”, our new freeride machine at North Fork, or our new carbon asphalt rigs, you’ll understand why our roots are firmly planted in the Pacific Northwest. Quite simply, the riding here is world class. You’ll enjoy guided rides with Kona product managers, sales reps and team riders like Barry Wicks, Paul Basagoitia and Graham Aggasiz.
The Bikes: 2012 is going to be a banner year for Kona. We can feel it. We’re introducing a total of 12 new models in freeriding, cross-country, 29er, dirt jump and asphalt. About all we can tell you right now are the names, which include the Entourage, Satori, Honzo and Dew Trail. We’ll keep the rest secret to protect the guilty parties of our intensely worked product group.
In addition to complete and thorough presentations of our 2012 bike and communications program, dealers will have on-the-spot opportunities to get the best possible deals, margins, programs and delivery available for the coming season, as well as opportunities to take part in Q&A sessions and round table discussions with Kona owners, product, service, communications, and credit managers.
At Kona we’re all about having Big Fun. If you’ve ever been to the Kona Compound or our Buck-a-Bowl in Vegas, you know. Rest assured, we won’t be putting our US dealers through “university” courses or weeklong factory tours. We’ll give you the goods, yes, but we’re here to celebrate the launch of some sweet new bikes, and we’re going to be riding them on great trails, with amazing people, and that, fine friends, demands a full complement of good times, Kona Luau style. Yes, earth roasted pig, scantily clad Hawaiian dancers (maybe), and tiki torches by the bazillions.
Just listen to what good folks had to say about last year’s Blast:
“Great relationships were formed, tons of fun was had and most importantly I’m more comfortable with a line of bikes than I’ve ever been. 110% success, rock on KONA!!”
-Jan w/Oasis Bike Works, Fairfax, VA
“The launch was a fantastic opportunity to see where the magic happens, meet the Kona crew in person and ride their bikes with them in their backyard. I left feeling more connected to the brand and the folks that create the brand.”
-Big Al from Bath Cycle in Woolwich, Maine
Stay tuned for details concerning travel and exact dates.
See you in August!
