Direct-to-consumer kids bike brand Trailcraft Cycles has unveiled the Blue Sky 20, a 20-inch kids bike. The Trailcraft Cycles Blue Sky 20 is designed for little rippers 5-8 years old, or about 3’8” to 4’2” tall. Price for the Blue Sky Pro Deore build is $1699, while the Blue Sky TCZ build runs $1449.
Focused on keeping weight low, the Trailcraft Cycles Blue Sky 20 will take budding young riders to the next level on mountain bike trails thanks to premium level components found on adult level bikes. Internal cable routing keep little riders snag-free and the 7005 series aluminum tubing frame features modern geometry.
All Trailcraft Cycles Blue Sky 20 bikes are assembled in Fort Collins, Colorado. This means you get to configure the bike you want in three color options, two build level options, and two chainring size options to best suit your local terrain. Full custom is also possible for parents wanting to go beyond our stock level builds.
Premium adult-level components shrunk down to kid size helps keep weight low and performance high. Trailcraft’s own TC30 suspension fork features carbon/alloy lowers, 80mm of travel, cartridge air damper, and low 1400-gram weight. Trailcraft’s 127mm direct mount cranks with alloy spindle, narrow-wide style chainring in 28 or 30 tooth size is another feature which helps keep weight low.
Two different lightweight wheelsets keep rotational weight low as low as possible: Stan’s Crest MK3 20” (1030 grams) on the Pro Deore level build and Trailcraft’s own 20” wheelset (1350 grams) on the TCZ level build. Bikes start in the 19-pound range set up tubeless with Vee Crown Gem 20×2.25 tires.
Trailcraft Cycles is also offering a limited edition rigid Christmas build, with even more build options following in 2019. Weights start under 18 pounds with color matched 635 gram rigid fork. Price is $1199.
