Transition fans rejoice. The new carbon Smuggler will be here very soon. Like its alloy sibling, the carbon version of this capable 29er trail bike will have 120mm of rear travel and 140mm up front. Other highlights include boost hub spacing, metric shock sizing, internal cable routing, and a threaded bottom bracket. The bike will be available starting this spring in two frame colors and two builds: $5000 for SRAM GX and $6000 for SRAM XO1. Frameset only is $3000.
Notable features include use of Enduro Max sealed bearings, space for a water bottle in the front triangle, external rear brake routing, molded-in rubber downtube and chainstay protectors, and tire clearance up to 29×2.3. Headtube angle is 66 degrees. Reach is 475mm for a size large. And effective seat tube angle ranges from 77 to 75.3 degrees. Press play to see the new bike in action.
