The start of the season has been amazing. We just finished two incredible camps in Santa Cruz and Los Gatos, and are headed into another in San Rafael this weekend. Huge thanks to everyone who has participated, hosted, coached, volunteered and supported our program so far. We couldn’t feel luckier.
If you’re not already a fan of our facebook page, and if you’d like to hear how inspiring a Trek Dirt Series camp can be, head over there now to share in the conversation. You’ll find us at www.facebook.com/dirtseries.
May Camps in North Vancouver and Whistler
If you’re at all inclined to take part in a camp yourself, or if you know of someone who might enjoy the experience, consider the North Vancouver and Whistler camps coming up on May 14-15 and May 28-29 respectively. I guess that still having space a few weeks out is what we get for having such a fantastic snow year, but we promise the trails will be clear by the camp weekends and the learning opportunities will be awesome. Trek Bike Purchase Tracking Rewards
Trek has launched a new program to help track bike sales influenced by their sponsored events. If you purchase a Trek bike within three months of your Trek Dirt Series camp, and if you send them in that information, they will send you out a very cool Bontrager pump. Find more details here.
Now, if you’re purchased a Trek bike anytime since Trek starting sponsoring our camps, of if you’re thinking of purchasing a Trek bike in the near future and have been at all inspired by their support, we’d like to know too. Just send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll enter you into a draw for three different Trek Dirt Series prizes of our own: a Dakine hydration pack, a Sugoi tech tee, and a free camp!
Other Sponsor News
Crankbrothers has recently released a whole bunch of beautiful new product. They’re starting to show up in magazines and on athlete’s bikes, and will be up on their website soon too. They’ve also just launched a very cool new women’s race program. Read about that here.
Bell helmets created custom Variant helmets for our coaches this year, and they look fantastic. We asked Don, our main contact there, for something to include in this email and he wrote the following: “Gravity. It’s not just a good idea, it’s the law. So wear a quality helmet”. To check out Bell’s line, click here. There’s a cool Dirt Series video on their site too.
Five Ten has just sent us a complete size run of demo Freerider shoes, so get ready to try them out at an upcoming camp. The coaches are all already in love with the shoes, and the participants at the first camp of the season actually bought the host shop, Epicenter, out of their complete size run as well.
And that’s it for now. We hope you’re all doing great, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Jo, Candace and the rest of the Trek Dirt Series team.
