Downhill Racer Jack Reading In South Africa For World Cup Race On Updated Ellsworth Dare
Ellsworth sponsored downhill racer, Jack Reading, is making final preparations for the first World Cup event of 2012 being held in South Africa starting tomorrow. The 23-year-old, UK based rider, is poised to have his best year yet and is excited to be doing it on a modified Ellsworth Dare.
“I will complete my first full World Cup season and have a new updated bike from Ellsworth to race on,” said Reading. “I have been working with Tony Ellsworth and his team throughout the winter on the updated Dare and the result has been exactly what I envisioned.”
“Working with Jack at the top of the World Cup game, gave us the data needed to tweak the already fast, and efficient Dare for today’s demanding world cup courses,” stated Tony Ellsworth, founder of Ellsworth Handcrafted Bikes. “These strategic-modifications have resulted in a World Cup tuned Dare that will help glide Jack to the top of the World Cup Circuit in 2012.”
Based on feedback from Reading and other Ellsworth downhill racers, the modified Dare includes a slacker head angle (64°), an extended top tube length and a 30.9 seat post. In addition, Ellsworth added a tapered head tube to allow for an adjustable angle set.
“As my World Cup campaign gets underway this weekend in South Africa,” exclaimed Reading, “I can only feel excited and confident going into this event due to the preparations I have taken leading up to the event. I am in the best physical shape of my career, I have a redesigned Ellsworth and I feel faster than I have ever felt!”
